NRA SCORES TWO VICTORIES AGAINST CALIFORNIA GUN-CONTROL LAWS

By NRA-ILA:  NRA SCORES CALIFORNIA GUN CONTROL LAWS.  Two pending gun control laws in California have been stalled following challenges from the National Rifle Association, the Wall Street Journal reports.

A federal judge ruled last week in favor of the NRA’s state affiliate to halt a law, meant to go into effect July 1st, that would ban ownership of firearm magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds. Responding to a different NRA challenge last week, the California Office of Administrative Law denied proposed regulations by the Department of Justice that would have banned the sale of firearms with detachable magazines.

Both developments reflect the NRA’s new focus on challenging California gun restrictions—among the strictest and most complicated in the country—through litigation rather than ballot initiatives, according to the Journal.

Not quite…the rejected regulations pertained to the assault weapon status & registration of guns with “bullet buttons” sold between ’01 and ’16. In order for regestration to occur, the regulations must be in place; the law is still in effect, however the registration deadline has been extended until 7/1/18.

  3. These attempts to restrict 2 amendment rights in any form in any state need to be stopped by all gun right organizations, end of story, completely unconstitutional!

  4. I’m a NRA member, I live in California.

  5. How can NRA say 50 states allow CCW when NJ is not one of them except for a very select few people?

Is anyone going to help us in NJ other than by providing a discount on moving trucks?
